Pet Shop Boys Numb
From www.petshopboys-online.com forum on Pet Shop Boys new single, Numb.
I read all your opinions and i want to say, to add, that, even considering the 'business is business', we have to remember that The Boys themselves wanted something else, talking about singles.Let's face it,once again, they are not as free as they were, just that. I love many of the Fundamental songs, i'd have chosen other songs as singles but I KNOW that my voice won't be heard. In the end i don't care if EMI are what they are. As many times neil said, many things have changed in pop. Pop was fun, even a sort of rebellion( a sort of, i insist)with contracts of million dollars. For example, Clash were punk rock but they were part of the pop stream too. Sex Pistols did what they wanted with EMI. Depeche Mode became what they are instead with an indie like Mute. Djfred suggested them to go there, we know it's up to them, of course. I agree when somebody said there's sometimes a bit of..sort of anger or bitterness round here. I love, as many of you, the Boys. We love their art and their pop. We are happy if they make new their success (coz it's business too)all around the world, coz they gave us to many of us happiness, we link them to many happy and sad moments, of love and pain in the silence of our rooms. They couldn't hear us, but i feel happy to admire the job of these guys that still make my skin go frrrr...when i listen to ..Hit& Miss or Confidential among others, that curiously were not singles. But our hearts do not listen to the top 40.
